It sounds like your facility had such a variety of settings! My facility also saw a lot of orthopedic surgeries and injuries. Though I learned a lot about them on fieldwork, I think refreshing myself on orthopedic surgeries and injuries would be great to know for Level IIs as well. I love that being assertive is something you are trying to work on; I struggle with this as well! I think that is a great goal to make for yourself, and I'm glad your FWE encouraged you to be more assertive on your rotation. I am excited to hear all about your experience in Texas!
I'm glad you had such a positive fieldwork experience. I know that being assertive is tough especially when faced with an intimidating superior, but I think as we gain more practice in the field this will help build confidence and come with time. I was also impressed with the variety of diagnoses at the SNF due to the nature that it can also be somewhat of an OP for the residents in IL or AL. Hope you're having a great time in Canada!
